The French for Teachers program consists of French classes in the mornings and teaching
workshops in the afternoons.
These morning French classes are specifically for French teachers, and include discussion
of finer points in grammar, etymology and current usages in French. We recommend that participants
have at least a B1 level of proficiency.
The afternoon FSL didactics workshops focus on strategies, techniques and resources for preparing
and delivering FSL classes. There is a strong emphasis on sharing experiences between participants
and hands-on class preparation and delivery, with peer feedback.
Customize your Program
Just as in the Summer French for Adults Program, you can customize your program. You can choose to
combine the afternoon FSL didactics workshops with the core French course for adults. This is a
good combination in the case where you do not have a B1 level of proficiency, or if your main
interest is to improve your general level in French.
You can also combine the French for Teachers morning classes with any of the afternoon workshops
offered for adults, such as cooking or conversation workshops. You can even change the mix of your
morning courses and afternoon workshops from week to week.
To complement your courses and workshops, we offer an outstanding activities and excursions calendar.
