Academic Year in French Program

(end of August to end of June)
Duration: 10 months

The Academic Year in French Program offers a complete immersion in the French-Canadian culture as well as the opportunity to attain an advanced level of French. This program also prepares students to function successfully in French language post-secondary academic institutions in Quebec.

Host Family

In addition to attending high school in French, students are lodged with host families, on a full board basis. They share the day-to-day life, including leisure and outings and in return they are asked to comply with the family rules. Host families are local French-speaking families, screened and selected to ensure an optimal cultural experience.

In addition to screening host families, Edu-Inter offers support 24/7, as well as monthly reports to inform parents of their children's social and academic progress.

Summer Bridge Program (July 18 to August 12, 2011)

The summer program aims to prepare students for the academic year, through an introduction to the academic context and to life in Quebec, and by reinforcing their proficiency in French. It consists of 15 hours of FSL classes per week plus afternoon, evening and weekend activities and excursions to help participants learn about Quebec history and culture. The program is obligatory for students who have not demonstrated an intermediate level of French (B1 level according to the CEFRL*), and highly recommended for all other students.
